So after being emo for the beginning of the week im back to my cantankerous self. Not much has happened. Work is work and even that is getting more difficult what with the heat, I finally wrote a memo about the problems I have been having with the heat and my supervisors are going to schedule me in the mornings and evening/nite shifts since it will be a little cooler. More cockroach spotting.

Work was interesting Wednesday. Me and Stevo were in the unit patrolling around the library when we spot a vehicle parked on the grass. We scoff the plate and find out its outstanding so we call it in and wait. When the order comes to boot it we zoom back and place the boot on. Now the sports people have their offices in Regents Row now and these sleezy sports people try to move their vehicles before we cite them. We got this guy and find out he is one of the BBall coaches, a prime catch. As we walk away he comes up to us with an older man and tells us he was dropping off shirts and he is special because he is with the Sports program, we tell him about rules and regulations, he replies with childish expelitives. So as he walks away from us, clearly upset despite the elder mans attempts to calm him, he walks by the boot and starts kicking and stomping on the thing to get it off, Stevo calls for a cop while I unclip my pepper spray in case he comes after us. Again after hearing us ask for an officer, he calms down and the elder man talks to him, he comes up to us and tries to convince us to call back the cop. I run up to his vehicle and take pics of the kicked boot, with my other hand on my spray. Finally the cop come and he goes up to the cop first and tells him we were threatening him and whatnot, the cop asks for our story and since there was no damage to the boot we let him go, but he has to go to the office to get it off. We had make statements about the incident when we get back to the office. The nice thing was that when the coach came in to get it released he forgot his ID in his booted vehicle and we cannot get it off without proof of Identification, so he goes back gets it and comes all the way back to pay the fee for removal. Stevo and one of our supervisors go to take it off. That was an interesting morning.

But im not a complete arse. I warned one of my friends friends that he was about to get a citation for Parked on Left, and I did let several people go. But one thing I wouldnt tolerate is people who park in Disabled spaces without the permit. I cited someone for that Thursday and when they came out I was across the parking lot and they begin yelling they were only in the building for 2 minutes (A lie, I took my time and took 2 minutes to write the citation, not to mention the 30 minutes for them to get to their jeep) and the childish name calling. Finally half an hour later the lady comes up and asks me if she could get off with a verbal warning and to make the citation dissapear, I reminded her of rules and regs, thinking i had forgot about her verbal assault earlier. After 5 mintues of trying to change my mind she walks away and continues her verbalities, she never noticed my smile and extreme look of satisfaction at giving her a 105$ citation that cannot be contested or dismissed. I love my job.

And I used to be such a nice guy...
